Summary:

The department organized a Guest lecture on “Diadems of Cancer Biochemistry” on 27th March 2018 between 10.30 am to 1.00 pm. The Programme was moderated by Dr. Asharani N, Assistant professor, department of Biochemistry.

Dr. Ashakiran S, Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Bengaluru was the invited guest speaker.

Dr. M G Shivaramu, Principal, Dr. Manohar T M, Medical superintendent, Dr. Rajendra R, Prof and Head, Dept. of Anatomy, Dr. Sudhir G K, incharge HOD & professor, Dept. of Physiology, and Mr. Umesh B K, Registrar were the invited guests. Faculties from various departments, MBBS students were the delegates for guest lecture.

The Programme began by seeking the blessing of the Almighty with invocation rendered by Ms Anarghya Marapalli ,I MBBS students. The programme was inaugurated by ceremonial watering of Tulsi plant. Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Professor & Head, Dept. of Biochemistry welcomed the gathering. The guest speaker Dr. Ashakiran S was felicitated by principal, Dr. M G Shivaramu. Diginitaries on the dais Dr. M G Shivaramu, Principal, addressed the gathering with encouraging words, followed by a short motivating speech by Dr. Manohar T M, Medical superintendent

After the inaugural session there was short tea break for ten minutes followed by scientific session. Dr. Shilpashree Y D, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry introduced the guest speaker.

Dr. Ashakiran S delivered interactive lecture on “Diadems of Cancer Biochemistry” which was well appreciated by the students and staff members.

At the end of the programme, the speaker was appreciated and was presented with a memento as a token of gratitude by Dr. Manohar T M, Medical superintendent.

The programme was concluded by rendering the vote of thanks by Dr. Namitha D, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Biochemistry.
