Profile of the Guest Speaker
Dr. Seema Deepak is Professor of Anatomy in Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, Mysuru.
She Completed her graduation at J.S.S Medical College, Mysore in 2001 and Completed postgraduation in Anatomy from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore in 2006.
She is an active member of Medical education unit, MMC & RI. She has completed advanced course in Medical education conducted at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore.
She is also a member of the MBBS curriculum revision committee of RGUHS
She has published 8 research papers in various peer reviewed indexed journals.

|The lecture started at 11:00 A.M. In the first of the lecture, the speaker talked about the angiogenesis, formation of body cavities, development of heart tube and various chambers of the heart. Special emphasis was given to the development of the interatrial septum. The second session started at 12:10 p.m followed by a short break for refreshments. The second session started with an activity for the students. This was followed talk on by development of the interventricular septum and the fetal circulation. The lecture concluded with a concise and informative video of the entire process of development of human heart. The lecture was attended by students of I MBBS, teaching faculty from all preclinical and various clinical departments.The speaker also emphasized the importance of application of the knowledge of development of heart in clinical practice.|
